Experience has taught us that average homeowners, even those familiar with blueprints, have trouble converting what they see on paper to an actual 3d image. Thus they visualize their dream home through a series of two-dimensional lines on paper. As walls begin to be erected clients may realize that the design they have imagined bears little resemblance to the structure going up before them. Now the once-happy homeowners have to face the difficult choice of making desired changes at huge expense or settling for a design they do not really love.
We feel that designers and architects must be responsible for ensuring that their clients understand the project completely, and are able to engage with it and make changes until they are totally satisfied even before the first brick is laid.
